I know Fall doesn’t actually start for 11 more days, but when I walked outside today and it was in the 40’s, it made it official for me that summer was, indeed, over. And not just because Starbucks put Pumpkin Spice Latte’s back on the menu. I wore tall boots to work today, ya’ll. That’s fall.
So, here are some of my favorite things about fall.
Apple Cider & Pumpkin Carving Outings
Okay, this is sort of two things, but they really go together. The last few years, my friend and I have gone to the pumpkin patch and gotten apple cider and an apple cider donut from Grandpa’s Cider Mill, and picked out pumpkins to carve at the nearby Jollay Orchards. This year, since my friend has moved to Chicago *sob*, I’m putting together an outing of my Mommy Group instead. We probably will only “decorate” the pumpkins, not carve them, but my own little family will probably carve some later.
I won’t go into more detail… I’ve already subjected you enough for now. Brace yourselves for mid-October to the first of November, though. You’ve been warned.
I don’t have the time (or $$$) to shop much these days, as all of my clothing funds go to dressing a certain little lady in the best of the best, but don’t think that I haven’t been online window shopping. I love fall fashion. Cozy sweaters, clunky boots, worn jeans. Mmmm… love. Pinterest is an eye candy hot spot for me for this. I never can find the things I find on there in real life, but if I could just click on some of these things and have them in my closet, here are a few… and if you have any interest, they are all on my “Realistic Fashion” Pinterest page.
I’m a sucker for a nice, warm drink. Whether it is a Pumpkin Spice Latte, a hot Chai Latte, or warm tea, which is what I’ve been drinking since cutting out creamer & ginger ales, I love the feel of them, the soothing vibe of them… everything. Fall is a perfect time to sip and warm your hands on one of these!
