It was just a boring low-key weekend at our house.

Saturday morning was supposed to be swim class, and I was really looking forward to going, but we ended up in the doctor’s office instead.

Off and on last week, Harlow had been sticking her finger and/or baby Q-Tips (she can reach the drawer they’re in now) in her right ear, so I was watching for other signs of an ear infection, since she’s gotten them a handful of times, and usually in the right ear.  Finally, Friday after school, while she was playing with Abbey, she stuck her finger in her ear and said her ear hurt, and since this was after a night of waking up crying a lot, I called the doctor.  Luckily, they were still open!

I was able to get her into the doctor Saturday morning (10 minutes after swim class was set to begin…bummer).  Luckily, it wasn’t the dreaded ear infection, but some sort of throat illness that was hurting her ear.  So, we’re still on antibiotics, plus Advil for the pain (when needed), plus baby Zyrtec every night because of her cold (which is usually the cause of ear infections…).  Fun, fun.

After the doctor, we ran to Jo-Ann Fabrics to get some stuff to make Harlow’s Halloween costume, then to Walgreen’s to pick up the prescription.  Have I mentioned how much I hate Walgreen’s pharmacy?  It was over an hour since the scrip had been called in, and we still had to wait forty minutes for it.  And there was nobody in there!  I really have to find another pharmacy…  Anyway…

Then it was home for lunch and nap time.  For both of us.  I ended up taking a two and a half hour nap and Harlow took a 3 hour nap!  I guess we were tired!

Sunday, we hung around the house until after nap time, then ran to Meijer for groceries.

After we got home, Harlow decided she was too hot and tried to take off her own sweatshirt.

Then it was dinner time, which she was super happy about!

She’s big on seeing pictures of herself (I may have a few) on my phone, but lately she’s been super grabby, and since I’m the only parent left on Earth who doesn’t let their baby play with their phone, and because it is a rare occasion and needed to be documented, and because I’m mean… this happened…

Understandable, though, since it was *this* close to bedtime.  So she took a happy bath (she LOVES baths) and went to sleep really easy.

Then I watched three episodes of House Hunters on Netflix and went to bed.  At 9:30pm.

Not a very exciting weekend, but it worked.  It still went way too fast, like they all do.
