It is already Monday again… Weekends just seem to fly by.
The fact that it is Monday, plus the fact that Harlow woke up at 5am for the day this morning, plus the fact that it was 16 degrees out when I left for work could put me in a pretty crabby mood… instead, I’m going to list a few things that make me happy, and hopefully that will put me in a cheery mood for the rest of the day!
1). Mommy Group – My Mommy Group had our monthly get-together this weekend. I cannot adequately express how much I love our group. The same 4 of us have met since our babies were very young… I think Harlow might have only been a month or two old. We’ve had some others join us off and on, and it is always nice having a bigger group, but I love the core group as well. It always puts my mind at ease to talk to other moms and know that they are going through the same things I am! You always think you are alone in a situation, but for example, NONE of the babies in our group are sleeping through the night. The youngest is almost a year old, and the oldest turned two a few months ago. It is so nice to be reassured, and to reassure other moms! I’ve even developed personal friendships with a few of the women, so it is really nice. (One of them is the girl I’ll be going to Zumba classes with!)
2). Successful Surgeries – It is seriously a miracle what our modern medicine is capable of. You may remember that a friend and former boss of mine was diagnosed with cancer just before the holidays… He had surgery last week to remove most of his tongue and 5 lymph nodes (he had a form of skin cancer that spread). They rebuilt his tongue using muscle from other parts of his body. Isn’t that amazing? He will need followup radiation, but they got all the cancer! I am hoping to put together a local 5k this spring to help him & his family, plus an additional virtual 5k that you could be a part of! Stay tuned!
3). This Face. Seriously.
4). Things that make me laugh…
5). Harlow’s excitement over getting new training pants… I don’t think she quite understood what they are for. (In case you are wondering, no, still no potty training happening around here…)
I hope everyone has a fantastic Monday!
What was the highlight of your weekend?
