Chris worked super late Thursday, so I had the evening to myself. I picked up an Amy’s pizza and settled in for my last night as a 35 year old. Wild and crazy, I am… Frozen Pizza/Ginger Ale/ Property Brothers on Netflix… Ooooh, yeah.
Harlow decided to celebrate my birthday by waking up just after midnight. And again at 3am. And again at 6am… While getting ready for daycare/work, Chris taught her to say “Happy Birthday, Mommy” which is the coolest thing ever.
From there I ran some errands… which is where part of the title comes in. It isn’t just an homage to Ethan Hawke movies… no, no. I had made a list for myself of what I wanted to accomplish on my day off… toddler-free.
- Clean out/wash car
Drop off Harlow’s birthday stuff (to be printed for her party)- Repack diaper bag
- Clean/toss bath toys
Clean out my clothes closet/drawers- Put photos in albums
Clean out bathroom drawer(s)Go to Walmartfor: 2″ hole punch, wire oven racks, stove knobsGo to Party City for Jake swag (for Harlow’s party)- Go to the dollar store for some kitchen stuff
Clothes shop for me(not Harlow)
So as you can see… I did… okay. I did not get to my car, although I did finally throw away the goldfish and partial petrified egg sandwich (really) that have been in the door of the car for, well, I’m not even going to speculate how long… So a half-win? No? Okay, fine.
I made it to Walmart, but couldn’t find anything I liked. Shocking, no?
Plus, I had a massively successful shopping trip but I ended up buying Harlow 2 things… which I still consider a win. The rest I just didn’t have time for.
I did, however, take time to go through my latest StitchFix Box!!! Later post on that to come.
After shopping, I treated myself to a great lunch. Jimmy Johns!!! Yum!
When Chris got home, he got to work making homemade pizza and he even bought me a birthday cake! I was so excited! He’s such a good guy. I think I’ll keep him.
Saturday morning was Harlow’s first day of Toddler Gymnastics! It was pretty much what I expected, but super fun!
They had “activity stations” set up, and we played and danced and sang… it was a lot of fun. We won’t make it next weekend, because we’ll be out of town, but it was a ton of fun, and I’m so excited to keep going in the future!
After that, we had some sibling rivalry. Harlow was NOT happy Abbey was sitting in her chair. Abbey cared… not at all.
The rest of Saturday and Sunday were a bit tricky. Harlow didn’t have good naps and was running a low temperature (F.U. teething) so we pretty much laid low and hung around the house. She seemed back to her old self and had more energy and spunk than the whole weekend combined… about 15 minutes before bedtime. Oi.
That about wraps it up!
Stay tuned, and I’ll be back soon with my third StitchFix!
Tell me!
What was the highlight of your weekend?
Anyone else do StitchFix? Love it or leave it?
Happy belated! Maybe Harlow just really wanted to spend your birthday with you at all those times of the night 🙂
Thank you!
Haha, yes, the same thought occurred to me… she needs to work on her love language, though! 😉
