Wow. I absolutely have no idea, whatsoever, where the time has gone. How is it already August??? I feel like we haven’t even started “summering” yet, but here it is, almost time to go back to school! I’m going to have to really make the next 26 days count!
While we’ve only been to the beach a couple of times so far (totally missing my goal of going a couple of times a week!) we have done a few “summery” things this summer. We’ve gone mini-golfing, and blueberry picking, and to Grandma’s for almost two weeks. We’ve started back up with the private swimming lessons, and even Mr. Bones has been in the spirit of summer.
We’ve done a lot of “regular” stuff, too. Barbies, mostly. So. Much. Barbie. Stuff. I’m going to do a post just on the food we’ve made for Barbies over the past couple of months. Harlow is really into “realism” so we’ve had a ton of real, edible Barbie food. That will come later, though.
For now, Here’s just a few things we’ve been up to. Including my Frankenstein Garden! Seriously… it’s all I can do to not shout “IT’S ALIVE!!!” whenever I see it. Instead I just giggle nervously…
Family time – blueberry picking, blueberry pancakes, and blueberry jam. I can’t find the recipe I used for some reason, but it was so simple… 5 cups blueberries, 1 cup sugar (it called for much more, but I ran out and honestly am glad I did!) and 2 tablespoons of lemon juice – boil for 20 minutes, pour in jars, freeze or eat. Also mini golf, and Harlow’s first Go-Kart ride! She psychotically loved it! That kid’s a daredevil!

We spent almost 2 weeks at Grandma’s house. Abbey just adores Grandma!
Plus some good-old beach time and of course, hanging by the pool. Including Harlow’s first sunset.

And our sweet Abbey is definitely having a great summer, though it looks as if her furry world is going to be shaken up a bit. That announcement/post will come later when we know more, but wish us luck!
And finally, I have no idea what these flowers are actually called, but I call them my Firework Flowers. So, so cool. They remind me of a Dr. Seuss plant!
Okay, I shall return (hopefully somewhat sooner than this time) with Barbie edible foods and other… stuff.
Ta-ta!
