Hello and greetings from Michigan! The magical land where yesterday there was an inch of snow on the ground when we woke up, and by the end of the week it will be nearing 80 degrees. Oi. Spring in Michigan. I tell ya.
I hope everyone had a beautiful Easter! We had decent enough weather that the Easter Bunny was, indeed, able to successfully hide the eggs outside. Then, later in the day, after finding the Easter Bunny’s 40 eggs, we had ANOTHER egg hunt using the EIGHTY-SIX eggs my sister sent for Harlow for an “extra” egg hunt. Harlow looked at the bag full of eggs before I hid them and said, “Who KNEW an aunt could love her niece so much!” It was a little extreme, but we had fun.

So now that Easter is over, all I can think about is summer. I can’t WAIT for Harlow to be out of school for the year. I have a whole list of things I want to do with her this summer, and I’m chomping at the bit to begin! She has 34 1/2 school days left, total. Last summer was a bit of a washout. We had bad weather, weeks lost to the yard sale, and we didn’t seem to DO anything, so I’ve been pondering what I want to do this summer. Things like…
- Grow our garden!!! (I’m SO excited to get started on this!!!)
- Zoo
- Mini Golf
- Beach at least 1x a week
- Play Dates – at least every other week, if not more.
- Water Balloons
- Scavenger Hunts
- Make lots of art
- Lemonade Stand
- Barbie outdoor adventures (maybe they can camp at the park?)
- Smores
- Volcano
- Splash Pad
- Watch Sunset
- Lots of walks
- Hikes at our local nature preserve
- Pick strawberries
- Make strawberry jam
- Pick blueberries
- Make blueberry jam
- Pick apples
- Make apple butter

This was all just off the top of my head, and it could already pretty much fill the entire summer!
Anyone else already dreaming of summer? Now off to walk the dog in 40 degree drizzle. Ugh.
Have a great week!
