New Year’s Goals – 2023

Hello and Happy New Year! I hope you all had a wonderful, safe, and fun holiday!

We were snowed in for some of it, but honestly, the family-centered recluse homebody I am loved every minute of it.

It has been a fabulous holiday break so far.

So. On to my New Year’s Goals. These are a few things I have on my list that I just want to either introduce into my life or things I want to work on, or work toward this year.

  • Get more organized. You would think that with my anxiety, I would be very organized so as not to add to aforementioned anxiety. And for some things I am… Because of my OCD tendencies, there are things I do religiously every single day, whether they need to be done or not. Some things I’m meticulous about. Other things… not so much. I’m constantly putting things in a “safe place” and then losing them for weeks/months/years at a time. Plus, my craft room is… unusable at this point. I really need to figure out some drastic organization.
  • Speaking of my craft room, another bad habit I want to break is buying stuff for craft projects… and not doing them. And then buying stuff for the next craft project… you see where I’m headed here. My goal is to not buy any more craft project items until EVERYTHING is finished that I’ve started. (Not including the studio apartment I made for Harlow over the last two days… it doesn’t count if my daughter asks, right? It’s pretty cool, actually. It has a Murphy Bed that is a TV and a fireplace when not in use.
  • One of my biggest goals this year is to do 5 client photo sessions this year. I know that doesn’t sound like a big goal, but I average one every 2+ years, so it is a big goal for me.
  • On that same train of thought, it would be really fun to sell some of the stuff I make. Harlow always tells me I should sell my crafts, and why not? With both this and the photos, it isn’t about making money (obviously) but about feeling accomplished.

I have other, lesser goals, like taking better care of myself (as in, get more than one haircut a year and maybe drink more than 5 swallows of water every day).

Feel free to share your goals with me! And again, Happy New Year!
